Known for its ideal skiing conditions and unique slopes and runs, Summit County is the ideal destination for ski-lovers of all ages and experience levels. Check out some of our favorite ski resorts in the county!

Arapahoe Basin

A legendary winter destination, Arapahoe Basin was one of the first ski areas built in Summit County. Known for its tricky terrain and runs above the treeline, Arapahoe has undoubtedly made a reputation over the last 75 years as one of the top resorts in Colorado. Locals and tourists flock to the slopes at the start of each season and enjoy endless hours on the mountain, which offers over 100 expertly carved trails above timberline bowls and deep powder stashes.

The resort offers lessons for all ages, uphill skiing, snowshoe tours through a section of the breathtaking Continental Divide at 11,000 feet, and unique “beach access” along the ski-in and ski-out parking lot section, a frequent hangout location for community barbecues and tailgates. Arapahoe doesn’t have lodging, but it’s just a 20-minute commute from the Keystone Ski Resort, which offers a shuttle service to the slopes. Grab a coffee at Legends Cafe before hitting the slopes and enjoy Summit County’s #1 Bloody Mary at Black Mountain Lodge. The restaurants are bustling with activity during the ski season and often feature themed special events, live music, and weekly specials. Fun for the whole family, Arapahoe is the premier destination for winter fun on the slopes of Colorado.
